By this point in my writing, I was starting to figure out something important about myself:
Apparently, I don't know how to leave well enough alone. 😂
Give me a cowboy romance and eventually I'm going to start adding more heat. Then some suspense. Then a little danger. Then somebody's making questionable decisions...
Looking back now, I can see pieces of the writer I eventually became in Heart & Fire.
It still has the cowboys and romance my earlier readers loved, but there's more heat and suspense running underneath it—and I think that's part of why this book has always stuck with me.
Long before Bourbon & Blood, I was already starting to wander toward the dark side.
Apparently, I just hadn't admitted it yet. 🖤
📚 A FEW MORE FOR YOUR TBR
Okay, Rebels, you know how this works.
I'm grabbing 2–3 more steamy reads for this section—books that caught my attention and fit this side of the Rebellion.
They don't all have to be cowboys. They don't all have to be romantic suspense. And they definitely don't have to look exactly like my books.
What I'm looking for over here is chemistry, heat, alpha/protective heroes, tension, danger, bad decisions, or enough spice to make you reconsider reading in public.

Some of you want your romance dark and dangerous.
Some of you want it hot and suspenseful.
Some of you just want a cowboy who knows what he's doing.
