Traveling from one mystery to the next... with Margo and Dot.
🐾 Dot's Detective Notes
Greetings, fellow sleuths and loyal treat-providers!
Clear off the kitchen counter, light a cinnamon candle, and give me a high-four!
OUR BOOK IS OFFICIALLY LIVE IN THE WORLD! 🎃🎉📖
Chief Detective Dot here, reporting live where the floor is currently covered in launch day confetti, falling autumn leaves, and zero crime (for now!).
D.A. survived yesterday’s launch day madness, though she spent half the morning staring at her phone in disbelief while I supervised from her lap to make sure she didn't pass out before Chapter 3.
But more importantly, do you know what makes this launch even better? It’s October! 🍂☕
Did you know that according to official canine science, reading a cozy mystery in October increases book enjoyment by 400%?
It’s a proven fact. The crisp fall air, the rustling leaves, and a brand-new mystery, it’s peak cozy season, people, and we are living in it!
Before you run off to dive into the next chapter, I’ve put together an official launch-week cider, a free gift for your reading pleasure, and the solution to last week's tea-poisoning case!
Let’s inspect the evidence! 🎒✨
🍹 Dot’s "October Sunset" Caramel Cider
Look, you simply cannot celebrate our new book launch, or survive a cold autumn investigation, on plain old water. A historic launch day requires an official victory beverage, and I have personally crafted the ultimate fuel for your brain! 🎃🍎
Here is my non-negotiable, 4-step recipe for your reading session:
- 1 cup fresh, crisp apple cider 🍎*
- 1 pinch of ground cinnamon & nutmeg (gives HQ that cozy "fireplaces and suspicion" aroma) 🌿*
- 1 cinnamon stick (mandatory for dramatic, thoughtful stirring between plot twists)
- 1 generous drizzle of caramel syrup (because we just dropped a book and I declared treats mandatory) 🍯*
Heat your cider for 60 seconds, stir dramatically with your cinnamon stick while looking suspiciously out the window at the falling leaves, and pair immediately with Chapter 1 of Murder at Bellwether Gardens! ☕✨
Haven't grabbed your copy yet?! What are you waiting for, an invitation signed by the suspect?
🎁 Launch Week Treat: Grab Your Free Printable Bookmark!🐾
Because I am feeling generous after yesterday's successful launch (and because D.A. paid me in floor bacon), I commissioned an exclusive printable bookmark just for my favorite detective crew! 🔖✨
It’s sleek, it’s cozy, and it keeps your page safe while you go make your October Sunset Caramel Cider. But I’m not just handing it over without a brief guideline!

🕵️♂️ The Wednesday Micro-Mystery: Case Closed!
Last Wednesday, I challenged you to find the fatal physical flaw in our prime suspect's statement and catch the tea poisoner red-handed... and our inbox was flooded with master sleuths trying to impress me! 📩🐾
Here is how I broke down the case from under the interrogation table:
- The Fatal Flaw: Our suspect claimed they stood outside the glass conservatory window at 1:58 PM and watched the victim stir hot, fresh Earl Grey. But hot steam hitting cooler glass creates instant condensation! You can't spy through foggy glass, pal. Nice try 🌫️🪟.
- The Culprit: The Antiques Collector! They were the one sitting directly across from the victim handing over the sugar bowl at 2:00 PM, and their fake "window alibi" completely melted under interrogation!
Shoutout to everyone who replied with the correct theory, Chief Detective Dot gives you 5/5 paws for exceptional detective work! 🐾🏆
📚 Wednesday Featured Read
Deadly Deception in Willow Springs: A Marnie Devlin Cozy Mystery (The Marnie Devlin Cozy Mysteries)
by Sloane Foster
The hat was vintage. The poison was fresh.
Marnie Devlin came to Willow Springs for a fresh start and a vintage boutique, not a body behind a wall. But when an obnoxious auctioneer turns up dead in a hidden room of a grand Victorian manor, the sharp-eyed sixty-five-year-old finds herself consulting on murder again, armed with an encyclopedic memory for couture and a hopeless soft spot for strays.
Good thing she's got help: her quick-tongued manager Ruby, who knows everyone's business before they do, and Taco, a small dog with an outsized talent for sniffing out clues.
The suspects pile up fast; the victim's anxious niece, poised to inherit his job, and a respected local doctor swindled out of a fortune in forged art. But every lead twists, and when a key witness is brutally attacked, Marnie realizes the truth runs deeper than one death.
Someone's been hiding behind a pleasant smile. And they'll kill again to keep it that way.
🐾 Dot-Approved: I looked into this case and I can confirm that Taco the dog has elite detective skills. Respect. 🐶🔍
📊 🐾 Dot's Post-Chapter Reaction Poll
Be honest with me;
What is your exact reaction the second you hit a massive cliffhanger at the end of a chapter in Murder at Bellwether Gardens?
- ⏰ Option A: Whispering "just one more chapter"... and then suddenly noticing the sun coming up at 2:00 AM.
- 📱 Option B: Texting my reading buddy immediately in all-caps to breakdown my top suspect theories.
- ☕ Option C: Staring dramatically out the window while holding my cider mug like I'm starring in a dramatic mystery movie.
- 🛌 Option D: Closing the book peacefully because I am a disciplined adult (I will know if you are lying).
Hit reply and tell Dot your real reaction, I will be personally tallying the votes!
☕ Coffee with D.A.
Hey y'all! ☕
The launch week dust is officially settling, and my desk currently looks like an October crime scene.
Empty coffee mugs, decorative mini pumpkins that Dot keeps trying to roll across the rug, and about forty sticky notes with future book ideas.
Seeing Murder at Bellwether Gardens out in the world after all these months feels so surreal. In the spirit of keeping things real while Dot runs around playing Chief Detective, here are a few of my own Launch Week Confessions:
- I spent twenty minutes yesterday frantically searching for my phone while using its flashlight to look under the couch 🤦♀️.
- Dot attempted to "help" answer reader emails by walking across my keyboard, resulting in a string of 400 consonants sent to an innocent reader ⌨️🐕.
- I have officially lost count of how many times I've checked to make sure the book is actually live on Amazon. (It is!).
Thank you all so much for reading, sharing, and celebrating with us this week.
Now go grab your caramel cider, hit that follow button on Instagram for your free bookmark, and enjoy stepping into Bellwether Gardens! ☕✨
Happy reading and cozy travels,
*🐾 Dot’s Final Thought:* I’ve done my job. The cider is brewed, the case is solved, and your bookmark is sitting on Instagram. Now go read our book so I can get my launch day nap! 😴📖
