🗞️ SPECIAL BULLETIN FROM THE EDITOR’S DESK
ATTENTION, SUNSET COVE READERS! WE'RE RECRUITING!
Happy Friday, everyone!
I know, I know. The newsroom was supposed to be closed for the weekend, but something important landed on my desk, and I couldn't wait until Tuesday to share it with you.
We're officially opening ARC reader signups for Slim Chance With a Killer!
Rosalind Harper-Cross and Perry Mason have another mystery waiting for you, and I'm looking for a dedicated group of readers who would love to get their hands on an advance copy before the book is released.
But before you rush off to sign up, we have a few changes to explain.
We’ve been making some behind-the-scenes improvements here at The Sunset Chronicles, including a brand-new system for managing our ARC readers. I hope this makes everything easier, more organized, and a little less chaotic for everyone involved.
Perry insists the previous system lacked proper supervision.
I’m choosing to ignore that.
🐾 PERRY'S PAW PRINTS
OFFICIAL ARC DEPARTMENT NOTICE
"I've reviewed the new procedures."
You have?
"Yes. Much improved."
Well, thank you.
"Although I have one concern."
Of course you do.
"What happens if someone takes the book and never reports back?"
We send a friendly reminder.
"And then?"
We follow up and update our records.
"I was thinking interrogation."
Absolutely not.
"A brief interview, then?"
Perry, these are our readers, not criminal suspects.
"Everyone is a suspect until the evidence says otherwise."
And that's why you're not in charge of reader relations.
"I would like that decision reviewed."
Request denied.
🔎 THE NEXT SUNSET COVE CASE
SLIM CHANCE WITH A KILLER
Everybody wanted the miracle. Somebody wanted her dead.
Something isn't adding up in Sunset Cove, and Rosalind is about to investigate a mystery where promises, secrets, and appearances can be dangerously misleading.
Of course, Perry will be right there, keeping an eye on everyone and offering his usual unsolicited opinions.
I won't give away too much just yet. Where would the fun be in that?
But if you love a mystery filled with suspicious circumstances, hidden motives, and a few surprises along the way, I'd love to have you on our advance reading team.
📬 IMPORTANT NEWS: OUR ARC PROCESS HAS CHANGED!
We've moved to a new system to help organize our ARC team, deliver books, and keep track of reader participation.
Here's how it will work:
Step 1 — Sign up to join the ARC team.
Click the registration link below and complete the sign-up form. This lets me know you're interested in receiving an advance copy of Slim Chance With a Killer.
Step 2 — Watch for your ARC delivery email.
When the advance copies are ready, you'll receive a separate email with instructions and a link to download your book. Signing up today does not mean the book will arrive immediately.
Step 3 — Read and enjoy the mystery! (ARC copy will be emailed on October 14, 2026)
Settle into your favorite reading spot, follow the clues, and see whether you can solve the case before Rosalind does.
Step 4 — Leave your honest review. (Slim Chance With A Killer will be live on October 27, 2026)
Once you’ve finished reading, we'll send you a reminder email with information about leaving your review. We may also ask you to provide a review link or confirmation so we can update our ARC records.
And that's it!
No complicated process. Just a little more organization to help everything run smoothly.
📖 A LITTLE NOTE ABOUT ARC PARTICIPATION
I want to explain something important because I truly appreciate the readers who volunteer their time to support my books.
An ARC is a complimentary advance copy provided in the hope that you'll read the book and share an honest review.
Reviews are incredibly important to independent authors. They help other readers discover our stories, give potential buyers a better idea of what to expect, and make a meaningful difference when a new book launches.
That's why I'm asking everyone who joins our ARC team to commit to participating.
With our new system, we'll be keeping better records of who receives advance copies, who follows through with reviews, and who confirms their participation.
If you sign up, please plan to read the book and leave an honest review within the review window provided. Your review doesn't have to be glowing, and it certainly doesn't have to be five stars. I want your genuine opinion.
If you already know you won't have time to read or review the book, please skip this ARC opportunity and wait for the regular release instead. There will be plenty of other chances to enjoy Rosalind and Perry's adventures!
Readers who repeatedly request ARC copies without participating or communicating with us may not be invited to future ARC opportunities. If something unexpected comes up, just reply and let me know. Life happens, and I understand that.
My goal isn't to make this difficult. It's to build a dependable little team of readers who genuinely enjoy these mysteries and want to help them find their way into more hands.
If that's you, I'd love to have you join us.
🗞️ THE SPECIAL EDITION IS CLOSED…
There you have it, friends!
Our ARC team is officially recruiting, and I couldn't be more excited to share Slim Chance With a Killer with some of you before its release.
If you're ready to investigate another Sunset Cove mystery and help support the series with an honest review, I hope you'll join us.
Remember, signing up now reserves your place for consideration on the ARC team. I'll send your download instructions in a separate email once the book is ready.
Thank you for supporting my stories, sharing your thoughts, and helping our little Sunset Cove community continue to grow. I truly couldn't do this without my readers.
Now, I believe the newsroom can officially close for the weekend.
Unless Perry finds another reason to call an emergency meeting.
"I've already scheduled one."
Naturally.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone, and happy reading!
