🐾 Wander & Wonder Wednesday
Traveling from one mystery to the next... with Margo and Dot.
🐾 Chief Detective Dot’s Emergency Dispatch
Listen up, humans!
Drop everything right now. 🛑
I have officially hacked the newsletter server. I have raided the treat pantry. D.A. Sweeten is locked out of the keyboard. 🎉🐾
Today is National "Remember When Margo Tried Not to Get Us Murdered in Vermont" Day. 🍁
We are packing our bags. We are heading straight back to where it all began in Sticky Sweet Murder (Book 1)!
Margo thought this was a peaceful travel-scout trip. She thought we were coming for colorful leaves and maple sugar. Cute, right? Instead, we walked right into absolute festival chaos. 🥞🕵️♀️
- An unfortunate incident at the syrup tasting table.
- A very threatening warning note under our B&B door.
- Enough small-town gossip to keep my Papillon ears perked for a century! 🐾🤫
Consider this your official roadmap back to the crime scene. Follow the trail with me right here.! 👇✨
🥞 Dot’s Pine Hollow Maple Maze 🍁
I am standing right at the START line! 🐶🏃♀️
I demand a batch of those legendary Maple Brown Sugar Cookies immediately. But the festival grounds are crawling with dead-ends and talkative locals.
Can you sniff out the true trail through the maze below and guide me straight to the cookies?
But before you unlock the finish line, verify you have checked off every single item needed for the famous Maple Brown Sugar Cookies.
- [ ] 🌾 All-Purpose Flour & Baking Soda: The structural foundation of our operation.
- [ ] 🧂 A Pinch of Salt: To balance out all that local gossip.
- [ ] 🧈 Butter & Dark Brown Sugar: To be creamed until light and fluffy.
- [ ] 🥚 Egg, Pure Maple Syrup, Vanilla & Maple Extract: Liquid gold flavor boosters!
- [ ] 🌰 Chopped Pecans (But its Optional): For a little extra crunch in the evidence.
Did you bypass Sheriff Belinda on your first try? If you got trapped by Jasper Lively’s 1894 syrup stories, I am judging your detective skills very hard right now. 🐾🙄
🧳 Pack Your Bags for Pine Hollow 🎒
With those sweet treats baking in the oven, the trail leads straight to our B&B luggage.
Before Margo and I stepped foot into the chaotic annual Maple Festival, we had to pack. Small-town Vermont requires elite survival gear! 🌲✨
Look at the five items below. Can you check off the 3 essential items you would pack to survive a cozy murder mystery?
- [ ] 🧥 Item 1: A thick plaid wool flannel for crisp autumn stakeouts.
- [ ] 📖 Item 2: A worn leather-bound travel journal for logging suspect lies.
- [ ] 🦴 Item 3: An emergency stash of peanut butter treats for the Chief Detective.
- [ ] 🔦 Item 4: A heavy-duty tactical flashlight for dark B&B hallways.
- [ ] 🔍 Item 5: A giant magnifying glass for inspecting crumbs.
🤫 Dot’s Pine Hollow Rumor Mill (Fact vs. Fiction) 🕵️♂️
Bags zipped and gear secured? Good. Because stepping outside means walking straight into the town gossip.
Small towns love a conspiracy. Let's test your brain against some tricky local chatter!
Read these three subtle statements. Two are completely true to Book 1, and one is a sneaky, devilishly lie.
- Statement A: Elias Wentworth's fatal collapse happened right beside the competitive maple syrup judging tables during the festival. (True or False?)
- Statement B: Jasper Lively cornered Margo near the town square to recount the exact historical statistics of the 1894 Vermont frost. (True or False?
- Statement C: The mysterious warning note slipped under Margo's B&B door was written on heavy parchment with dark fountain ink. (True or False?)
🗺️ Your Roadmap Back to the Crime Scene 📚
The trail of clues ends right where the magic started.
Your journey doesn't have to end here. Whether you are due for a maple-scented weekend reread or sharing the evidence with a friend for the very first time, the entire trip is worth it!
☕ Coffee with D.A.
Hello lovelies!
Its D.A here!
Did you enjoy following Dot’s mischievous paw prints down the trail? Watching our favorite Papillon retrace our steps through Pine Hollow always makes me smile.
A fact about me, I actually started writing stories when I was just 13 years old!
Back then, building a whole world out of ink, imagination, and a twisty little mystery felt like pure magic, long before Margo and Dot ever trotted into Vermont.
Revisiting Sticky Sweet Murder (Book 1) feels just like stepping back into that cozy, teenage daydream. It's chaotic, it's heartwarming, and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Before Dot comes to chase me off the keyboard, tell me; How old were you, or what was the book, that made you fall hopelessly in love with cozy mysteries?
Happy travels back to Pine Hollow!
P.S: 🐾 Case Closed! Go read a chapter. Eat a cookie. And if you hear rustling in the bushes outside your window, just assume it's me tailing a suspect.
