Hi friend,
How's your July going so far? Ours has been nice except for the thunderstorms; Callie (one of our dogs) is not a fan.
We're heading to the Benton Rodeo tonight with our son's family to watch the Barrel Racing. Our daughter-in-law, Leila, really enjoys this event. I'm hoping the grandkids will love it, too.
We stopped by North Mountain's Fireman's carnival on Saturday night and watched the band for a few songs. Summertime is a good time to get out and do things. I hope you've had a chance to participate in some fun activities local to you.
But I never want to be so busy that I forget to pray, so please share your prayer requests so I can lift you up before our heavenly Father.
FROM MY WRITING DESK
Instead of writing my books this week, I spent my time designing newsletter software so I could solve residual issues myself (the link click problems many of you have been reporting) instead of relying on my newsletter provider to fix them.
The nice thing about having my own program is that I added in all the features from my wish list. The primary issue was fixing the links and preventing emails from winding up in spam folders, but my new app—NewsletterScriv—does so much more than that. It'll still be a few more weeks before I can complete dump my current provider, but we're headed in the right direction.
As for book news, Shadowing Stella hit #4 in the Kindle Free Store during its recent promotion, and it's still sitting near the top of its categories. It was my debut novel, so I've learned much about writing since it first released in 2016, but it still holds a special place in my heart.
FARM NEWS
Farmer Joe bathed all three dogs this morning. With the temperatures soaring, it was a good time to get them wet and cool them off (especially Sadie since she doesn't have access to air conditioning).
I was on a Zoom call at feeding time last night, so two of the young chickens snookered Joe into letting them sleep in the duck house. Similarly, one of our hens has been perching near Sadie's pen instead of going inside one of the coops. Chickens have minds of their own and don't take direction well.
Today's farm video features a duck chilling in her water bowl. Enjoy!
