Hi friend,
It's a beautiful, sunny day here in North Central Pennsylvania. My white German Shepherd, Maddison, and I are spending the morning on the screen porch enjoying the weather. It's starting to heat up, but there is still a gentle breeze.
I have a prayer request for one of my writer friends. I'd appreciate it if you'd pray for an upcoming surgery and healing for her, God knows the full extent, so I trust him to direct your prayers.

FROM MY WRITING DESK
I've begun a new story that I'm excited about. The working title is Not One Sparrow. It's a global romantic thriller that I plan to pitch to publishers and agents at the ACFW Conference, so pray it finds the publishing home God has in mind for it.
FARM NEWS
One of our older sheep, Hannah, seems to be slowing down recently. I don't know if it's just the heat of the summer getting to her or if it's her age, but she isn't quite herself. She does still get excited for sweet feed in the morning, so that's good, but I'm preparing my heart for the day when God calls her home. I hope I'm wrong and she lives for many more years, but her and Daisy are both at the upper end of expected lifespans for sheep and saying goodbye is as much a part of farm life as welcoming new life. Makes me think of this verse:
“It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.”

In other news, I forgot to make my sister the blueberry zucchini bread I'd planned for, so the goats got to enjoy the zucchini meant for it. Most of them liked it, but a few turned up their noses. Our Vicky Van Goat enjoyed it immensely.
