Happy Wednesday!
Hi friend,
Hope you had a fantastic week. We're doing well.
Did I tell you we were getting a metal roof this fall? Farmer Joe's getting impatient waiting on the Amish roofer we hired to contact him. If he doesn't hear from him by this time next week, he's going to call his driver to check in. I'm just relieved Joe isn't planning to put the roof on himself. We're not getting any younger, and I don't want him on the roof.
In other news, I've been doing a bit of shopping for Amazon Prime Day(s). I like to keep things in my cart until the sale starts and then see if any of the items I want are on sale. This time it worked out well. I ordered a number of things yesterday. It's still going on today (Wednesday), so you haven't missed it yet if there is something you've been wanting to grab. If you're not a member, I think they offer a free trial to check it out, though I can't swear to that.
If you'll reply and share your prayer requests, I'd be honored to pray for you, as always.
FROM MY WRITING DESK
Things have calmed down enough that I've been able to get back into my writing, so that's a blessing. Of course, I keep getting sidetracked with research into Tajikistan (like what a traditional Pamiri house looks like), but at least the words are flowing for me now.
Last week, I shared a little about my title Grave Pursuits. So, this week, I thought I'd share the next book in that same series.

Grave Secrets
Mason blocked the drive to keep Samantha from leaving. He nodded to Warden, who stepped from the vehicle and stood nearby with his arms crossed.
The dark-haired beauty raised an eyebrow. “Is there a reason you’re blocking me in?”
He grinned at her through the car window. “Have you thought about my offer?”
“I have, and I decline.”
“That’s too bad. I thought you were smarter than that.”
“Well, I guess I’m not. You can go now.”
He shook his head. “It’s cute how you actually thought I was leaving you a choice in the matter. You are our newest legacy. Turning us down isn’t an option.”
“I just did.”
Mason gave Warden a tiny nod, and the big man grabbed Samantha and secured her wrists behind her back. She kicked and fussed, but in the end, she was trundled up in the car like the rest of the girls. He grinned at her in the rearview mirror. “Glad to have you on board, Ms. Rollins. We hope you’ll enjoy the benefits of membership in our exclusive society.”

FARM NEWS
Autumn is arriving and leaves are changing. The deer were absent much of the summer, but they seem to have returned along with the cooler temperatures. The goats are rolling with the weather changes, but the old rooster may not be taking it all in stride. He hasn't been on the porch much this week. I'm not sure if that's because the other rooster discovered his secret feeding spot or if he's just too tired to walk that far. Poor old guy. Only time will tell.

One wrong move and their cover is blown. So their charade sparking real feelings is the last twist they can afford.
Special Agent Kira Miller's new career at the FBI has started--in translations. It's not the opportunity she was hoping for to show off her skills, until she detects a lead in some paperwork. Now assigned an undercover role, she's in her element as she gathers intel on an art smuggling ring. She's daunted not by the mission but by her cover--posing as a married woman to the fake husband she met less than twenty-four hours earlier.
Special Agent Bryce Lambert's assignment to go undercover as a newlywed couple with Kira has the two of them moving next door to the prime suspects, and a relationship is the last thing he wants, fake or real. With secret auctions and hidden treasures, there's plenty to keep them busy--if only they can play the part their lives and careers depend upon while keeping their own hearts in check.
