Plans, limits & your data

Plans are sized by mailable subscribers—readers you can actually send to. The details worth knowing:

What counts

  • Active subscribers count against your plan's cap.
  • Unsubscribed, bounced, and complained contacts are free—they cost us nothing and protecting that history protects you, so we never make you choose between your cap and your suppression list. Import everything.

At the cap

When an import or signup would pass your cap, it's stopped and tells you why—nothing is silently dropped, and existing readers are never affected. Upgrading from Account settings takes effect immediately.

Sending volume has a generous fair-use allowance scaled to your plan; a normal newsletter cadence (even weekly to your whole list) fits comfortably.

If you stop paying

Your account drops to the free tier—nothing is deleted. Your readers wait for you. Data is retained for five years from your last activity, with warning emails (and a one-click full export) long before anything would ever be purged. Suppression lists are kept even beyond that, forever—an opt-out is a promise with no expiry date.

Life happens—authors take years off between books. The five-year clock exists so a sabbatical never costs you your list.
