SEPTEMBER 2026
Hi, Readers,
Can you believe we're already into September? The days may be getting shorter, but it still feels more like mid-August here in Central Texas. How can we still be having triple-digit temps??? ☀️🥵
Wish I could blame the heat for the comedy of errors that has been my life lately.
🖨️ First, I discovered Sunday morning that my printer lost wi-fi connectivity. Dreading the cost of replacing it after only three years, I persevered searching for solutions online. Nothing worked until I came across a suggestion to leave it unplugged overnight so it could reset. Lo and behold, we’re connected again!
⌚️Next, as I was unclasping my Apple watch Sunday afternoon, I dropped it on the tile floor and cracked the rear sensor! Oh, boy, did I panic! I immediately checked my Apple Care status, and YAY, still several weeks left. A replacement is on the way—and for 80% less than the cost of a new watch.
💻 Then on Tuesday, after clicking the “submit” button to publish my latest audiobook (read all about it below), I discovered I’d entered the wrong ISBN. More panic ensued! Many thanks to the customer support people for quickly making the correction!
That is more than enough tech troubles for one week, don’t you think?
✈️ Montana Trip
On to happier news. Last month, we enjoyed a delightful visit with the Montana branch of our family and met our new great-grandson for the first time! We also celebrated Project Guy’s and our daughter’s birthday (same day!) with a steak dinner at The Montana Club. The restaurant has a policy of discounting birthday celebrants’ meals by a percentage equal to their age IF they come in on the exact date and show their driver’s license, a special dinner out we’d been looking forward to ever since planning this trip!
Project Guy, our son-in-law, Me
On the Saturday during our visit, we enjoyed a Clark Fork River float trip. I wasn’t sure how I’d survive in my shorts, sandals, and a light windbreaker since it was only in the high 40s when we headed out that morning. But by the time we shoved off, we were in warm sunshine and shirtsleeves for a very pleasant outing that included a picnic lunch on the riverbank.
Other fun experiences: Our two Montana grandsons took turns giving us personally guided tours of Montana Knife Company, where they are both employed. Amazing how much goes into the creation of a quality knife! Then on our last full day, we visited the National Museum of Forest Service History. Well done and so informative!
👩🏼💻 FROM MY WRITING DESK
I wish I could tell you that the necessary revisions for Teach My Heart to Dance are practically writing themselves … but honestly? I feel like I hit a new wall every day. Just when I think I’ve landed on the best solution for a character or plotting dilemma, the logical side of my brain comes up with a million reasons why it won’t work.
Nonetheless, progress is happening scene by scene. I'm trusting the process, praying a lot, and listening for the Holy Spirit’s quiet nudges. I have faith the story will come together in its own time, and I appreciate your patience and prayers more than you know. I promise it will be worth the wait!
🎧 EXCITING NEWS — ALL SHE SOUGHT AUDIOBOOK IS PUBLISHED!
This is something I've been looking forward to sharing for several months now. The audiobook for All She Sought has been released for publication, and retailers will soon be rolling it out on their websites. Some take longer than others, so if it hasn’t shown up yet at your favorite audiobook retailer, check back often! 🎉
About the book:
An abandoned Arkansas lake resort holds the secrets of a young woman’s past . . . and her future.
Raised by her grandfather, flea market manager Julie Pearl Stiles promised herself she’d postpone the search for her absentee father until the truth could no longer hurt Grandpa. Then one crazy June day ushers in a series of discoveries that will turn Julie’s peaceful, small-town life upside down.
Real estate entrepreneur Micah Hobart is haunted by the memory of a devastating childhood mistake. When he’s blindsided by the outspoken young woman determined to rescue a stray dog and her puppies seeking refuge on his property . . . suddenly everything changes.
No amount of philanthropy can blot out the emotional abuse endured by wealthy Little Rock socialite Renata Channing at the hands of a mentally ill mother, and all the money in the world won’t restore the precious “pearl” lost twenty-five years ago in the depths of Lake Hamilton.
As Julie is drawn deeper into the tragic past Micah and Renata share, she’ll question everything she’s ever believed about herself, her family, and her future. Can she find her way to forgiveness and finally, fully accept who she is as a child of God?
