AUGUST 2026
Hi, Readers,
Summer is flying by, and my world has been anything but static! I've got great (and not-so-great) updates on books in progress, a nonfiction read that really touched my heart, a fun BookFunnel promotion, and — best of all — a Montana trip on the horizon. Read on for deets!
📝 First, a Behind-the-Scenes Note
You may have noticed my newsletter looking a little different this summer, especially during my recent transition to a new author/reader-centric newsletter service. There have been a few rough spots and learning curves along the way — to be expected with any big change — but I can already tell the results will be worth it. Thanks for bearing with me through the chaos!
👩🏼💻 FROM MY WRITING DESK
Teach My Heart to Dance. Well, the editor has spoken — and she was thorough. I've received her notes for the next installment in my Montana Mercies Romance series, and let's just say... there's work to do. A lot. Extensive revisions are ahead, which means the release date must be pushed back. I’m hugely disappointed, especially about making my readers wait, but I believe a story worth telling is worth telling well, and I refuse to rush a less-than-wonderful book to publication. The story and characters mean a lot to me, and I hope you’ll eventually agree that Tobias and Anika’s happily-ever-after was worth the wait.
Thank you, as always, for your patience, grace, and especially your prayers.
🎧 AUDIOBOOK UPDATE
All She Sought. For those of you who love listening as much as reading — good news is coming! The audiobook recording of All She Sought is approximately 90% complete. Next up is mastering each chapter file and uploading to retailers, so I’m at last seeing light at the end of this particular tunnel. You’ll hear me shouting from the rooftops (and via email and social media) the moment it's live!
Insider info: The pros say it takes 3-5 hours of recording, editing, and all related tasks to produce one finished hour of an audiobook. So yes, it’s a time-intensive process, but I’m enjoying so much bringing my books to life this way!
📚 WHAT I'VE BEEN READING
If you're looking for an eye-opening and deeply meaningful read, I can't recommend this one highly enough:
In a Land of Awe: Finding Reverence in the Search for Wild Horses, by Chad Hanson(affiliate link)
This nonfiction gem was passed along to me a few months ago by a friend. Working through my towering TBR stack, I didn’t get around to reading the book until this summer, and I have to say it completely captivated me. The author’s search for wild horses became a search for something much deeper — wonder, stillness, the sacred in the natural world. It's the kind of book that slows you down, seeps into your soul, and reminds you to look beyond yourself. Whether you're a horse lover or simply someone who needs a fresh perspective, I highly recommend this book!
📖 BACKLIST SPOTLIGHT: First-in-Series Kindle Unlimited Promo!

🎉 COMING UP: Montana, Milestones, and a New Little One
Later this month, Project Guy and I are heading to Montana to visit our daughter and family! We'll be celebrating birthdays (daughter and Project Guy share the date), making memories, and meeting our second great-grandchild, a sweet baby boy born July 8. His big sister, 2 1/2 now, is already crazy about him!
I may be a little slower to respond to emails during that stretch, but we don’t get to see our Montana kids very often, so I’ll be enjoying every single moment. Sometimes life hands you the sweetest chapters, and this trip is sure to be one of them. 🥰
✍🏻 A Note Before I Go
Thank you for being here. Truly. Whether you've been reading my books for years or you're brand new to this little corner of my world, I'm so glad you're along for the journey. I love to hear from my readers, so feel free to drop me a note anytime!
Until next time, keep reading — and try your best to stay cool during these last weeks of summer!
Warmly 🥵,
Myra Johnson
