Delivery speed: spreading a send
Next to the send button you'll find Delivery speed: all at once, or spread over 1 to 24 hours. Spreading sends the same campaign in steady batches across the window. Every reader still gets it—some just receive it a little later.
Why spread a send?
Inbox providers judge senders by their domain's reputation, and thousands of emails arriving in one burst is exactly the shape spam arrives in—especially from a domain they barely know. Spread out, the same send looks like what it is: a calm, consistent sender.
When to use it
- While your domain is young—spreading every send is part of the warm-up ramp (see the warm-up guide; it's the bigger picture this control belongs to).
- For your biggest sends, even on a warmed domain—smoothing the spike costs nothing, and many authors just leave it on out of habit.
- A small send (a few hundred readers) doesn't need it—that volume never looks like a spike.
While a spread send is going out, the campaign's numbers keep climbing across the window—that's the batches landing, not a stall.
