Webhooks & the API

Two doors connect NewsletterScriv to your other tools.

Webhooks (events out)

Under Account settings → Webhooks you can register endpoint URLs to be notified when things happen: a subscriber is created, confirms, unsubscribes, bounces, or complains—and when a campaign finishes sending (that one includes the public archive link, which is how authors auto-post each issue to their website's newsletter archive).

Deliveries are signed so your endpoint can verify they're really from us—the signing secret is shown once when you create the endpoint. Failed deliveries retry with increasing delays for about half a day; an endpoint that keeps failing is disabled automatically and can be re-enabled after you fix it.

Team members with the Admin role can add and remove endpoints too, so whoever looks after your website can wire this up without waiting on you. Each endpoint lists who created it, and you can remove any of them at any time.

The API (subscribers in)

The inbound API adds subscribers from your own site or services you use—this is how integrations like a giveaway service or a book-delivery service feed new readers into an audience, complete with their consent details and tags. Tags applied this way can trigger sequences, so an integration signup can start your welcome series automatically.

Create and revoke keys yourself under Account settings → API keys. A key is shown once, so copy it when you make it; if it's ever lost or leaked, revoke it and mint a fresh one.

If you just want "new signup → welcome email", you don't need any of this—a form plus a sequence does it with no code.
