Your first campaign, start to finish
Five steps stand between a new account and your first sent campaign. In order:
- Create an audience. An audience is one publication—one pen name, one newsletter, one suppression list. Readers, forms, and campaigns all live inside it.
- Set your mailing address. Anti-spam law (CAN-SPAM and friends) requires a physical mailing address in every marketing email, so sending is blocked until you add one under Settings → Mailing address. A P.O. Box works fine—most authors use one.
- Verify your sending domain. Email you send has to come from a domain you own—that's what inbox providers trust. Add it under Settings → Sending domain and follow the DNS steps. This is the step with the most waiting, so start it early.
- Add your readers. Import a CSV from your previous platform, or put a signup form on your website and let the list grow from zero.
- Write and send. Create a campaign, send yourself a test, then send for real—or schedule it.
